You told me you loved me. I love you, you said. You looked at me like… and said I still love you like in the beginning. You said that to me. Out of the blue you said that.
And No More Shall We Part by extraordinary Tasmanian playwright, Tom Holloway, follows Pam and Don’s halting, humorous and devastating attempt at the impossible – to say goodbye after a lifetime together.
As the Dying With Dignity bill is introduced into the Tasmanian Parliament, the subject of voluntary euthanasia will be in the minds of many Tasmanians. This play will, in a dignified and intelligent manner, add to this significant and potentially divisive debate.
The winner of the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, the Louis Esson Prize for Drama and the 2010 Australian Writers’ Guild Award for best play, And No More Shall We Part stars Guy Hooper and Joan Murray, last seen together in TTC’s Sex, Death and a Cup of Tea in 2010.
‘a resonant play that confirms Holloway as among the best stage writers in the country right now’. Sydney Morning Herald
‘It is like watching a toughened glass windscreen shatter in exquisitely slow motion. Four Stars’ The Edinburgh Financial Times
